How to Subscribe to the Bird News Network

The Bird News Network (BNN) provides an 'RSS' news feed that delivers the latest bird conservation news direct to your computer as it is issued by American Bird Conservancy.

Subscribing Through The Web

How you subscribe to this feed depends on your Web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape Navigator, etc), so be sure to look at the options you are provided at the top of the page when you click this link. In general, subscribing to this RSS will create a "Live Bookmark" on your browser's toolbar. Each time a news items is released on BNN, it will automatically appear in a dropdown menu on this bookmark. You can then just click on the headline in the dropdown to view the new release.

Note: When you click the link above, if you don't see something that looks like a normal web page with instructions on how to subscribe, but instead see a page of code that seems to make no sense, you need to update your browser to the most recent version (e.g. Explorer, Firefox, Netscape).

Subscribing Through Email

This is only possible on some of the newer email clients such as Outlook 2007. Please check your email help documentation to see if it supports RSS and how to add a feed.

If you subscribe through the web using Internet Explorer, the feed will be automatically be added to your email's RSS folder if it has one (e.g. Outlook 2007). Other browsers such as Netscape and Firefox will give you the option at the time you subscribe of adding this feed to your email if it is available. Click here subscribe.

Subscribing Using an RSS Reader

There are programs available that will download to your desktop and make RSS feeds available for you to read. Some of these programs are free for personal use, such as Rocket Info,
